There are so many great gifts you can give with photos. Calendars, photo blocks, and even a just a nicely framed photo will definitely make many family members smile. However, if you have someone you really love, a great gift is to give them a photo session. We all seem to have a hard time getting around to taking pictures; wouldn’t you love a certificate for a photography session, taking the work out of tracking down a great photographer, and moving “get family photos” off of the someday section of your to-do list?
We had our pictures taken last month. I wanted them for a Christmas card (and setting a deadline helps make it happen :D). Of course, I put it off long enough that it was cold and a little crazy. We had a string of mishaps that day and I honestly wondered if we would be able to get anything good. I was amazed and thrilled when I saw the pictures Stephanie captured. She is a miracle worker! Stephanie Bletzacker specializes in kids and it is nothing short of astounding to see the beautiful images she can coax out often unwilling subjects. Here area a few of our pictures:
Now for the really fun part; Stephanie has graciously offered one of you a free photo session (a $150 value). You do have to be in the Salt Lake Area (or willing to travel and it may be worth it, wink wink) to enjoy Stephanie’s skills.
To enter to win a free session with Stephanie Bletzacker, leave a comment telling us when your last family photograph was taken by Tuesday, Dec. 14th
*Extra entries can be earned by blogging, tweeting, or posting on Facebook (with links) about this giveaway. Please leave a comment for each additional entry.
The winner will be chosen by random.org and announced on Wednesday Dec. 15th. Good luck!

Sadly, our last family photo was taken when child #4 was a baby. She isn’t anymore and the new “baby” is already nearing 2!
I love your family pictures! Our last family picture was two years ago and could definitely be updated.
Wow! We haven’t had our family pictures taken in 6 years. The last picture we had taken didn’t even include our third child Micah who is almost 3 now. We just haven’t had the finances. I love pictures though and I try to take a lot with my own camera.
Oops! I don’t know how to delete my comment, but I wouldn’t be able to travel for the photo session even though her photography is amazing.
Our last family picture that was “professional” was from kiddie kandids if you call that professional when Andrew was 1 and now he is almost 6!
We just had our family photos taken and it was disastorous! The photographer was so unprofessional, she didn’t know what we should do as poses or where. The kids were freezing and our 90 minute session turned into only 20 minutes due to our kids were so unhappy. They ended up horrible and we don’t have a single picture that is nice. It would be nice to have some done by someone who is professional. We haven’t had a family photo since right before Christian passed away(almost 6 years ago).
Try our wedding…two and one-half years ago.
Oh my I think 3 1/2 years ago. Too long eh?
Actually, this Thanksgiving!
I couldn’t remember so I had to go through photo albums and check. Our last official family (with no extended family) picture…taken by a person who is an actual photographer…was 1999. Even then, it was taken in the Target Photo Studio, probably by some teenager. We have had gracious family, friends and neighbors take pretty decent pics since then, but we haven’t had a “photographer” take our picture in 11 years. Last Christmas we tried to do it ourselves. Not so great…glare off of the fire place, bad…self timer shot…bad. Anyway, I think we are due!
It has been over a year and both kids have grown so much that even my mom said we needed an updated photo. I love the family picture of you guys! Such a beautiful, photogenic family!!
We got ours taken 2 years ago and I am dying to get a new one for my living room. Please pick me. We will be back in the summer and I would Love it.
[…] gift 8: family photography with stephanie bletzacker […]
This last summer I realized I didn’t even have a snapshot of all of us to put on my blog, so I had my sister-in-law snap some of us at a family party with my camera. But they didn’t turn out… The last ones that KIND OF turned out were 1 1/2 years ago. I’ve been dying for professional shots, but since $ is tight, we’ve been putting it off. This would be an amazing prize!
Love, love your photos!
How did I miss this giveaway?!
We haven’t ever had professional family pictures taken, unless you count our wedding pictures.
